MeC S.r.l. has two bilateral lines, two straight machines and five CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems which ensure that the company is certified as Industria 5.0.

Standard glass grinding

Grinding is a process that eliminates through specific tools the sharp edge obtained through the cutting process with the result of shiny, matte or bevelled edges and corners.

Flat rough edge

Flat polished edge

Round edge

Bevelled edge (with variable inclination)

Extra bevelling (Half-bull grinding, ogee grinding or "becco di civetta" grinding)

Bilateral lines, straight lines and CNC machines require a constant use of water to lubricate the tools during processing. With a view towards greater sustainability, the company has set up an underground drainage system for the recovery, cleaning, and recycling of processing water.

The glass is cleaned during the various stages of processing using special horizontal or vertical washing machines in order to systematically control the quality of the material and prevent processing residues from compromising the result.

CNC glass-shaping

CNC centres are used for glass grinding, shaping, bevelling or drilling using DXF programs that are sent directly to the machine and checked by the operator.

With these systems it is possible to create holes, cut-outs and standard shapes like diameters or oval forms as well as custom shapes.
